Engine out – swapping the goodies…

Moving the required items over to the newer engine

The engine is out and I’ve begun the process of swapping over the necessary parts. Looks like the oil pan, exhaust manifolds, some mounts, and ground straps are all that will have to be moved. I have already removed the exhaust manifolds from the new engine, but there were some broken studs left in the head on the passenger side. Today I removed the left over bolts that were broken off and left in the head. Tomorrow I hope the remove the oil pan, and transfer that stuff, making it ready to go into the jeep on Tuesday – maybe I can get the engine in tomorrow, but I doubt it.

Also, was able to take a few minutes and clean up the garage, took a bunch of stuff to the dump, and scored a set of tires for the jeep. They’re only about 20 percent, but they have move tread then the ones currently on it, and they are bigger, better, and more aggressive.

Anyway, looking forward to starting this thing up and seeing it drive.
